What is a Sky Lantern? Sky Lanterns, also known as Wish Lanterns and Konming Lanterns, can be thought of as a miniature hot-air balloons that can launched in your back yard for a special event or occassion. The lantern itself is made of lightweight biodegradeable tissue paper on a bamboo frame with a small wax fuel cell suspended in the middle. Just light the wax fuel cell and the lantern fills with hot air, causing it to rise gently into the night sky. Sky lanterns produce a stunning glow when launched into the night sky, and can travel a great distance before gently making its descent after the fuel cell has burned out. Our colored sky lanterns can be particularly great for use during daylight hours, when their bright color will be visible as they soar off into the distance. Day or night - Sky lanterns from SkyLanterns.us are perfect for weddings, birthday parties, celebrations, memorials, funerals, and remembrance services. Our Premium Sky Lanterns are hand-made to the highest quality standards from fire retardant paper and bamboo, and individually wrapped for protection. All of our sky lanterns are made of flame resistant biodegradable tissue paper with a bamboo ring and come with a pre-attached wax fuel cell, making them the most easy to use and environmentally friendly sky lanterns available today. Order Processing and Shipping: All orders from SkyLanterns.us are shipped from our warehouse in Winchester, Virginia. We use FedEx and the United States Postal Service for shipping orders to customers. Most orders are shipped within 24 hours of being placed. Holidays and weekends excluded. During checkout you may choose the shipping option that best suits your needs. Note regarding FedEx SmartPost and USPS Service: For FedEx SmartPost and USPS service, delivery time is typically between 2 - 8 days in the 48 contiguous states for most origins / destinations. Estimated delivery time for addresses in Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico may not fall within 2 - 9 days and may be several days longer. Note regarding FedEx: FedEx does not deliver on Saturday or Sunday as part of their standard service. If you need Saturday delivery, please contact us for a special shipping quote. Weekends and holidays are excluded from time estimates for shipping. Additionally, for FedEx Ground and FedEx Home delivery services, the date of departure is not included in the estimated time for delivery.
